All the Pastels for Altar’d State Collab
It’s June, my second month to feature Altar’d State on the blog! Cute Dresses and Shorts Season! For the Summer months, I gravitate towards lighter colors and easy to wear outfits. I feel like during summer there are so many different things happening, always on the go, friends coming and going, plans being broken and made last minute. I always make sure to do some summer specific shopping so I have the easiest outfits on hand, that way I can grab and go, like a quick snack!
The first outfit I put together reminded me of a scene out of Clueless, I think it’s because all of Cher’s outfits were so matchy matchy (Ode to Mona May, the brilliant costume designer behind the movie Clueless). I can not believe Skorts are back, and I’m still on the fence about them after all these years. The tank top is the Adeline Tank and the bottoms are the Shiloh Skort in blue. I’m not gonna lie, once this outfit was on, I loved shooting in it and walking around like I belonged. Paired with Brynee Sandals.
Second outfit was a soft and sweet “Raina Romper”. I love the ruffles and tie in the back, it’s so girly, perfect for a day out at the vineyards. The pink is not too pink, more of a pastel pink, which I can handle. I’m usually not a fan of pink, however, my husband loves me in pink, so compromise. I paired it with a signature L gold dipped “Burst Tag Monogram Necklace” from Altar’d State and wore the “Brynee Sandals” with this romper. (Necklace comes in all letters).
Third outfit, white “Fare Denim” shorts and pastel green “Hart Bodysuit”. White shorts for summer are a must have, and the last time I was on the Altar’d State website browsing, these shorts were on sale! These are the perfect length short, modest yet not too long. I also love a button fly. The bodysuit was super soft and comfy. Paired with studded “Desi Sandals”. Burst Tag Monogram Necklace.
Fourth outfit, GO-TO CLBD! Comfy-Little-Black-Dress. Listen, I live live for comfort in everything I do. I think I seek comfort because I’ve modeled since I was a teenager, constantly uncomfortable all day on set wearing anything but my own clothes. So when I’d come back to the hotel or my home, all I wanted to do was put on a big old dad tee shirt, sweats and sit on the couch with a blanket. I think this is true with any job that you’re at all day, and have to be “on”...all you want is some form comfort, whether it’s a bath, food, wine or some binge watching (or all of it). My form of comfort is in what I wear and in the way I decorate. Example, my bedroom has to be extra comfy and inviting-my living room must have throw blankets on the arms of couches and ready for lounging. So on my non-work days, I seek classy yet comfortable clothes. And this dress, has been my GO-TO the last few weekends my husband suddenly wants to go out. I just throw it on, pair it with a low heel and wand a couple curls in my hair and I’m good to go!
I did pair this dress with a hat, The “Josephine Hat” in Bone, I will say it is an adorable hat, but it was too big for my head. I’d like to think my head is average size..but definitely too big for me and I believe it is a one size deal. Looked cute for pictures though! Burst Tag Monogram Necklace. Look also Paired with Desi Sandals (on sale now).
Shout out to Amelia’s Flower Truck for letting us use their spot for pictures and the trendy 12 South Area in Nashville for lending it’s perfect color pallet for our pastel looks from Altar’d State!
What I love about shopping at Altar’d State, is that you can step inside or online and find almost anything you were in search for. This is a store and brand that one can feel at ease when representing quality styles and fabrics with a modest modern twist!
